Yorkshire Stone Slate Roofing — New Installations in Northallerton & North Yorkshire
What is Yorkshire Stone Slate Roofing?
Yorkshire stone slate is sourced from local gritstone and moorland stone — the same materials that have protected North Yorkshire homes for centuries. Each slate is hand-riven into sharpened courses and overlapped using traditional methods. The result is a roof that lasts 100–150 years with minimal maintenance, far outlasting modern alternatives.
Why Choose Yorkshire Stone Slate for a New Roof?
Proven Durability: 100–150 years with proper maintenance. Stone slate roofs in Yorkshire have performed for 200+ years.
Heritage & Authenticity: Perfect for listed buildings, period properties, and conservation areas where traditional materials are required.
Increases Property Value: Estate agents note that authentic stone slate roofing commands higher valuations and attracts serious buyers.
Fireproof & Weather-Resistant: Non-combustible with Class 4 hail rating. Resists frost, rain, UV damage, and chemical weathering.
Sustainable: Natural, locally-sourced material that’s fully recyclable. No chemical treatments or petroleum products.
New Stone Slate Roof Installation
We specialise in new stone slate roof installations for both period properties and contemporary homes. Our team sources authentic Yorkshire gritstone and moorland slate, then installs each course using traditional overlapping methods combined with modern weatherproofing standards. The result is a roof that looks period-perfect while meeting current building regulations and providing maximum weather protection.
Every installation is carried out by experienced slaters trained in hand-riven stone slate techniques. We don’t cut corners — every slate is positioned correctly, every course overlapped properly, and every detail attended to with the care that Yorkshire stone slate deserves.
